Louisa Ellen was born 23 November 1853 at 309 Oxford St, Lambeth London, the third and last child of Samuel Goodliffe RICHMOND and
Mary Ann (TOWNLEY).
In the 1861 census, Louisa was with her family at 309 Oxford St (St George Hanover Sq), although there is some confusion over names and ages. By 1871 her mother Mary Ann had died; her father had married Martha FROST and her father Samuel had died. She is with her step-mother at Bexleyheath.
Louisa married William Charles CORNER, an accountant, on 18 September 1880 at Christ Church, Bexley Heath. William CORNER, son of John William Lucy CORNER and Rebecca RUDIN, was born in Newington, 28 February 1848.
In the 1881 census, William and Louisa were living at 3 Montague Villas, Bexley Heath, close to her sister Elizabeth and George ANDREWS at Barrowden Villa. With Louisa was her nephew George Richmond ANDREWS, son of her sister Elizabeth.

Harold was born in Bexley Heath on 15 May 1882. After his mother died in 1893 he went to live with his cousin William Richmond NEALE at Beckenham, Kent. William was a telegraphist in the civil service. It appears that he assisted Harold to join the Civil Service as a Temporary Boy Copyist in 1899 and this is his occupation in 1901. In 1902 he was promoted to Clerk second division in the Scotch Education Department, in 1908 to the Board of Trade, and in 1815 to Assistant Director of the Exhibitions Branch, Board of Trade.
Harold married Marie Irene BROOKES at Christ Church Bexleyheath on 2 June 1910.

By 1915, probably consequent on his promotion to Assisant Director, Harold moved to 30 Royal Ave, Chelsea. He was not long here, as he died on 22 October 1918. Marie later married Philip READ, a solicitor in the civil service. Marie died 1965 at Bournemouth, aged 79.
Denham married Joan Charlesworth FRY in Surrey in 1947 and they had one child. Denham died 1997 in Cheltenham.
Ellen Ethel was born 27 April 1885 at Bexleyheath, Kent and baptised at Christ Church on 24 May 1885.

Some time after her death the family petitioned the Freemasons for a place in a school for Ellen Ethel (and her brother Harold). Ellen was admitted to the Royal Masonic Institution for Girls at Battersea, London and Harold to the Masonic Boys’ School. Ellen was still at the school in 1901. The Royal Masonic Institution for Girls (now the Royal Masonic School for Girls) was founded in 1788 for the daughters of Freemasons who were deceased or unable to support their families. In the 1901 census there were 23 teaching staff, 4 pupil-teachers, 25 kitchen and laundry and 8 grounds staff and 271 girls ranging in age from 16 to 8.
Ellen Ethel was allowed to remain at the school beyond her 15th birthday. She left in December 1902 and went to Brighton College to train as a teacher. In 1905 she took a teaching post at the Upland Council School, Bexley Heath. In 1911 Ellen was boarding with Thomas Emery at 298 The Broadway. She was a "college trained Certified Elementery Teacher" working for the Kent County Council. This address is only 500m east of Crook Log, the family's earlier location.

She was recorded in the 1891 census at Bexleyheath with her widowed mother and siblings. After that Gladys disappears for a while. Her brother Harold and sister Ellen are in the 1901 and 1911 censuses, but Ellen remains elusive. The next record we have for Gladys is her marriage to John Thomas HUTTON in 1915, registered at Louth Lincolnshire.
It appears that Gladys May, like her sister, became a teacher. We have a record for her as the owner of Highfield School at Harrogate in 1930, although we cannot be certain that this is the correct Gladys. After this record, Gladys and family vanish. Did they move overseas?
