London Views

The View from New Zealand House

New Zealand House is in central London, on the corner of Haymarket and Pall Mall. It is the tallest building in this part of London, so the roof area has unobstructed views across all of London. While I was visiting NZ House I was fortunate enough to visit the top floor area and access the balcony.

Looking SE over the roof of the Ministry of Defence and across the Thames to the London Eye.
Looking NE across the jumble of buildings that make up The Strand area. The conspicuous while arch in the centre of the photo is part of Covent Garden
Looking east across the Thames. The Large arched building is Charing Cross Station
The view south across Horse Guards Parade, The Cabinet Office and on to the Houses of Parliament and the tower of Big Ben.
Looking down onto Nelson's Column on the edge of Trafalgar Square.
Proof that I was there....

London Eye Views

On a cool but wonderfully fine morning, I walked across the Golden Jubilee Footbridge that runs beside the Hungerford rail bridge in front of Charing Cross Station. I then joined the queues for the London Eye and was in the second pod that "flew" that morning.
