Cruising the Danube from the Black Sea to the North Sea April-May 2023: Day 4
A Stroll around London
Introduction
Today being Saturday the shops were open. We needed a post office, not any one but the Post Office in Regent St, as this is the only one that would exchange old British £50 notes for the new plastic
ones. That chore successfully completed we continued down to The Mall and St James's Park, passing the Florence Nightingale Statue and other landmarks on the way. Yes, the daffodils were still in bloom! From there we walked
up The Mall to Buckingham Palace, dodged all the people and the workers setting up for the coronation, up Constitution Hill and into Hyde Park. A bite to eat beside the Serpentine lake and then back to Earls Court.
St James's Park
I had visited St James's Park in March 2017 when it was full of daffodils, so was hoping they would still be in bloom in early April. They were.

Almost coronation time! |
Wonder how long it will take them to change the "E" to "C"? |
