success in after life was owing to habits acquired in his situation. To the last he was generally good natured and cheerful and when by the kindness of an excellent son in his old age he was most bright and comfortable. He died 1868 in his 68 yr. William Goodliffe the 6th living was born 1801, the opposite in temperament and tendencies to James, more reserved and cautious. Owing to the distance to any school, he like the others had very little early training. He was early apprenticed to a respectable grocer -  Mr Hart of Uppingham.
