Our first run was to Edinburgh, which going by first class by the night train, we travelled very comfortably. We went to the Calton Hill was charmed with the fine buildings and views, Scott’s monument, Burns’ grave, Grass Market, historical as the place where many martyrs suffered; then the lofty houses on flats was a sight to us, besides many places and objects of interest I cannot particularize. Our stay was too short we hied away to Glasgow, found the Grand Square and Monuments very fine, but Glasgow being more of a commercial city, was less interesting to us.
