The Goodliffe Family of NottinghamSarah Goodliffe - Youngest daughter of Arnold GoodliffeArnold and Ann Goodliffe had 7 children. Their youngest daughter - Sarah - was born in 1839 and was still living with the family at Bridlesmith Gate on the 1851 census. Sarah married William Froggatt, a neighbouring family in Lenton Rd, The Park, Nottingham on 11 April 1867. It was a double ceremony, being shared with her brother Frederick and his bride Elizabeth Swain. The Froggatt family moved to a property in Derby Road, Sandiacre, a few miles west of Nottingham, where William established a wood, coal and twine business in Station Rd, next to the canal. William and Sarah had six children:

William died in Sandiacre in 1881, aged 44 years. William (jnr) and James emigrated to Australia in 1885 and 1886 respectively. By the date of the1891 census, we have:
and by the date of the 1901 census, Elizabeth has married Frederick Hope and they were living at 7 Cavendish Place, Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne:
After 1901 the family moved to Darlington, where Sarah died 19 June 1909, aged 70. Elizabeth (Hope) died on 21 June 1921. Frederick remarried (to Katherine Cantelo in March 1924) but he died 18 July 1826. Of the six children of Sarah (Goodliffe), only the oldest, William, had children - 14 children in all.
