DAY 7 Saturday 11 June 2005
Tintern to Henley on Thames
After the usual English breakfast at the hotel it was a short drive south on the A466
to Chepstow and the M48 at the western approaches to the Severn Bridge.
Over the Bridge and onto the M4, and being early Saturday morning there was
little traffic about. East on the M4 past Swindon and Reading, ten we turned
north towards Henley on Thames. Here we visited the Rowing Museum so that we
could look through the Wind in the Willows Exhibit. This walk-through story
was originally in Derbyshire (Rowsley) but had recently been moved to
Henley where it was expected to attract more visitors.

And on to Heathrow
From Henley-on-Thames it was a short drive to Heathrow, a
slightly longer drive to find the right rental car depot, then the
check-in queues, the VAT refund queue and finally the departure gate queue. At
9.30pm. right on cue we boarded the Thai Airways plane for Bangkok and on to
Sydney and Auckland.
Phew!
