From the Pacific to the Atlantic - Crossing Canada by Train 2 October - 5 November 2024
Canada 2024 3 October 2024: Day 2
Vancouver
Introduction
After a night at the St Regis hotel we sampled their breakfast before deciding what to do.
It was a fine day, not too warm with a light breeze so we decided to walk to the waterfront and head west towards
Fraser Park. We followed the seawall walk that runs around the edge of the harbour. It is a wide pathway, mostly divided into a walking side and a cycling side.
The cyclists rushed past at a great speed, e-assisted for the most part.
At Stanley Park we walked through the trails, observed the squirrels running and climbing and eventually
found ourselves, once again, at the Stanley Park pavillion just in time for lunch. After a nice meal we
headed back around the harbour and up to our hotel. We decided to dine at the adjacent St Regis Bar. Food was good but it was a bit noisy with the predominance of TV screens showing all the American baseball and NFL games.
No Canadian teams in evidence that night.
