Britain 09 - Day 7

Introduction

Waterford

From Glengarriff we drove south on the N71 through Bantry, stopping for a decent cup of coffee at Skibbereen. Then on through Cork towards Waterford, stopping at the famous Crystal Factory. Despite Waterford Crystal going into receivership the factory shop was still in business, with some good bargains to be had. Unfortunately, crystal is heavy and we already had a weight problem. We then headed into Waterford and the hotel on the banks of the River. Here we enjoyed a few drinks while watching the local rowing club introducing some new rowers to the joys of the sport. Around the corner from the hotel is the Castle and a statue of Meagher, a local hero.
